Ahmed Al-Banoony, Head of the Libyan Programme for Reintegration and Development’s Education Programme, received approval from the Ministry of Finance to activate Decree No. 27, which mandates the processing of Ifad scholarships for approximately 210 students, whose eligibility is reliant on them providing formal documentation containing their national identity numbers.
In accordance with state law, the documentation enabling government employees enrolled on the Ifad Higher Education Project to receive a quarter of their annual salary will be processed and delivered to the various Scholarship Directorates within two days.
On 26th and 27th August we are sorting the documents according to the branch and making copies to return them to the Scholarship Directorate so they can send them to the relevant cultural attachés offices.
The LPRD will communicate the scholarship approvals to the students from next Sunday, 30thAugust 2015. Students from the Eastern Region (Cyrenaica/Barqa) wishing to collect their scholarship approval documents in Tripoli are invited to do so between 30th August – 1st September, following which we will send all approval documents pertaining to beneficiaries from Benghazi, Ajdabiya, Al-Kofra and Al-Wahat to our branch office in Ajdabiya; approval documents for beneficiaries from Tobruk, Derna, Al-Bayda and Al-Jabal will be sent to our branch office in Al-Bayda.
Al-Banoony advises those beneficiaries outside Tripoli not to travel until the grant is confirmed to have been sent to the relevant countries.
Our Tripoli headquarters will be ready to welcome beneficiaries on Sunday, 30th August 2015 between 9.30am – 2.00pm. The headquarters is located directly opposite Salah al-Din traffic lights, on the ground floor next to the office of the Facilities Guard.
